Dark green foliage, upright tidy habit and masses of large single white flowers with yellow stamens in early winter make this popular variety of Camellia a well proven favourite in gardens throughout New Zealand.
Camellia Setsugekka is often used as a neat formal hedge up to four metres tall, or as a topiary subject on standards.
Camellias prefer slightly acid soil that is rich in organic matter. Setsugekka responds well to trimming after flowering and should not be allowed to dry out during hot dry period
